Is there a way to find out how much the housing allowance will be under the Post 911 GI Bill?

Good afternoon, I’m terribly sorry to bother you as I know you are very busy.  My question is just as crazy as everyone else’s.  Recently I found out about this new Post 911 GI Bill and I’m very interested in pursuing a degree with this benefit.  Is there a way to find out how much the housing allowance portion will be that is paid to the veteran?  Once again thank you for your time and consideration.  - James L.

Your monthly housing allowance paid to a student  under the Post 911 GI Bill is a great question.  The answer tp your question is that you receive a Basic Allowance for Housing (BAH) equal to that of an E-5 with dependents.  The actual amount will be calculated by the zip code for the location of the school you choose to attend to earn your degree.  A chart of BAH rates by ZIP code can be found at
