Default Best USMC ad (IMHO)

You may have seen this before but this has got to be the best USMC ad ever.

My favorite Marine Corps commercial is the one that's been on the Our.Marines.com home since July, titled "Leap".

Great ad. I don't know about the rest of you, but for me it seems like the Army is always trying to play "catch up". Always trying to find that motto, saying, slogan, style, etc. The Marines just stick with what they got.

I personally like the one with the tacky techno music and clips of Marines doing what we do, and the ending slogan is, "We don't make compromises. We make Marines."

It does not seem to show very much about all the things that Marines do. The uniforms are good looking but look like they would show the dirt quickly.

My favorite image of Marines is this one which I saw at Pearl Harbor but is also posted at: http://static.howstuffworks.com/gif/...-harbor-20.jpg

In the book "East Wind Rain" by Stan Cohen the image is described on page 220, "Marines armed with Springfield model '03 rifles fire back at Japanese aircraft during the attack."

This one photo says more to me about the USMC than a ton of advertising.

Not to worry, Murray - dirt is not authorized in contact with Marine Blues - and even dirt knows that. And yes, the image you posted is, indeed, 'what we're all about'.

Or it is about my cousin, one Francis Mostek, PFC, USMC (KIA, 7 DEC 1941 abroad the USS Arizona) and who is still on duty.

To me the best advertisement for the Marine Corps is a Marine.
