Default Please Pray for me.

It feels like I'm on a beach and I take a step out on to the sand and then I take ten steps right back into the Cold Dark ocean known as my life. I have tried for two years to advance my relationship with God and my past just seems to grab the back of my pants leg and just pulls me back in. I finally have things going for me, A job, a women I love, I finally feel like things are looking up(I am excited because everyday I get closer to my dream). I love my life but I hate what I came from, I want that whole street, gangster, drugs, women and money crazed life gone and it is but it seems like it's creeping back in. I can't move it is not a option. Any advice will be appreciated

P.S. I forgot to write this, I have never done drugs or sold drugs. I have done nothing criminal in my past. I have been hurt before. The reason I did the things in my past was because I wanted to be a rebel, I had been raised in a Christian home and I thought if I did this I would be a "Bad@^&". I was just a little kid in a big bad dangerous world. I realized two years when I joined JROTC that it wasn't me, I started becoming a man, a real man. I have always wanted to be a Marine but when I joined AJROTC it just made me feel like I can really do it. God has brought me a long way, but he's not done yet, I still have a long way to go. I will update you guys on my progress.

I cannot give you advice (due to my inexperience), but I wish you the best in anything and everything you accomplish. I know I speak on behalf of everyone on this forum when I say our thoughts and hopes are with you; keep your chin up, try your best, and everything will be fine.

Nothing's impossible if you really want something. It's not easy though, but it's usually worth it.

I know you can do it, and everyone here will be cheering for you!

My Friend,

As a Christian, tough times come at us from all sides and all directions. It does not stop, it is there through our entire life. We make our own decisions in our life and we will be judge by those decisions that we make. Free Will is a wonderful thing and a terrible thing.

My pastor gave me this little prayer about a month ago. It brings me comfort when I am down, and I've been down quite a bit.

All this day I am going to be a child of God.
His love is round about me. Underneath are the everlasting arms.
I am going to be honest and true in all events of life and I believe
that to those who love God all things work together for good.
I am going to rise above all worry, fretting, fear and hatred, and live
in an atmosphere of spiritual serenity.
Behind all that comes, God's love and wisdom will be present to strengthen and sustain.

Amen...

My friend, I hope this brings you some peace.

It does. Thank you for your support. When I logged off last night I just spent two hours praying and weeping. I just want to get out of High School because I know all this will stop once I leave my school. I want to leave and move but I can't do it. Here are the Three reasons.
1. I just don't want to start over at a New school New JROTC unit.
2. My unit needs me, me and our XO are the only committed LET 3's and they need us.
3. There are to many people in my school who need me there to help them and give them advice as a Christian.

I don't want to move because if I do a lot of people will go back to there old lifestyle and will just do what they don't want to do. I just can think of myself I have to think of other people, that is what being a Christian is about. I think God is testing me to see how far I will go to serve him.

Sincerely your friend
Drill for life

P.S. Thank you virose09, It's good to meet you.

I'll be praying for you, brother. Keep your head up and hope in God's plan for your life!

I wish some of the people that were in our JROTC unit last semester would have turned around and came back like you did. But all they did was quit the program. What you did shows true manhood and a genuine salvation and faith in God. God bless you and good luck with your goals.

Well this was my LET 1 year and I got rid of it before first semester, It has just been pressing on me real hard since a friend of mine moved back form California. I have been talking to God a whole lot, I talked to him for three hours last night, I am so glad that I listened to God. Please Cadets listen to the authority figures over you, I didn't and could have gotten into a whole lot of trouble(I was fortunate, I quite and just surremdered it all to Jesus Christ).
