Default Pvsa

PVSA is an acronym for the Presidential Volunteer Service Award (http://www.presidentialserviceawards.gov/). The PVSA is awarded to citizens based on the number of hours they've devoted to serving their communities, and is a very prestigious award to hold. I was wondering if any of you have participated in this program, or any of your units?

I have never heard of it before, but when I saw what it was I signed up instantly. It sounds like a great program.

It definately is, just remember that you'll need to find acertifying organization in your area to verify your hours. My JROTC unit is now a certifying organization, so all of our cadets can participate and be assured they can recieve the award (assuming they put in the effort.)

How do you know if an organization is certified?

There may be a list on the website, otherwise you just have to ask I imagine. You may even ask permission to apply to have your unit certified.
