Simply out of curiosity, how about posting what you have done in the past several years since you began participating in your ROTC and/or JROTC programs. Possibly describe your awards, events, promotions/demotions...anything that you are proud (or not so proud) about.
I started when I was a freshman. I was Alpha Company Guideon Bearer and flew through the junior ranks pretty quickly. My freshman year I won Cadet of the month twice and by the end of the year, was one of only 5 freshman Cadets to be promoted to C/SGT. The following year, I was assigned as the Bravo Company 1SG and was promoted to C/SSG, I took my C/SFC test and passed, and right before I was going to get promoted, I lost it. I was caught fighting after school one day and lost all of my stripes. After three months, I was promoted to C/PV2 and two months after that got C/PFC. This year, I was appointed a Cadet Officer and made C/2LT. I started out as a platoon leader in Alpha Company again, and was then promoted to Company XO. Yesterday I "resigned my appointment" and left the program for some personal reasons. So there is a brief insight into my slightly troubled past. How about you guys? -Bozz-

You may want to rethink your statement about being commissioned. You were appointed a cadet officer in a cadet program, you were not commissioned. There are members here that were actually commissioned and would take offense to a cadet presuming to be on equal footing with them.

That hurts. Well I started last year (freshman year.) By the end of the year I got promoted to C/SSG. At the beginning of this year I got demoted to C/SGT for a really stupid reason. Than last week my platoon sergeant got demoted and I am taking over. I would be happy, except he is my friend so it was kind of a bitter sweet moment. That reminds me, how do I change my name?

Well my SAI told me he was sorry when he saw a poem of mine was published in our city's newspaper. He told me he is going to make it up to me. That is going to be hard, to walk around when you have been demoted. You just have to hold your head up and work even harder.

AFJROTC
In AFJROTC I spent the first two years in standard leadership positions, but became more of a troubleshooter in my third and fourth year. AS-I: Worked my way from C/AB to C/SrA and served as an element leader. Both of these were rare in my unit as AS-Is typically ended as C/Amn or C/A1C in no leadership position. AS-II: Joined the drill team and was immediately made the flight sergeant of Foxtrot Flight. Went from C/SrA to C/MSgt (C/Officer Candidate). Received the Military Order of the World Wars Award. Attended Regional Leadership School and graduated 3rd out of 300 cadets and received the Tenacity Award. Received promotion to C/SMSgt as a result. AS-III: Initially began as Bravo Flight Commander, was then court martial led and acquitted for lying to the C/Wing Commander. Reassigned as Personnel Superintendent and Recruiting Superintendent with promotion to C/CMSgt. Shortly afterward I was appointed a C/2d Lt and then C/1st Lt. I ended the year as the Inspector General with the rank of C/Capt. I received the Daedalian Award, Outstanding Cadet Ribbon, and Achievement Ribbons. Again I attended RLS and served as a Cadet Training Instructor, earning promotion to C/Major. AS-IV: I was the IG for the first half and was also asked to take over as the Director of Drill and Ceremonies for the training portion of the season. Was stabbed by a cadet on the drill team because he did not feel he had to go through the training program. I handed these positions over after the first quarter to become the Wing Vice Commander as a C/Lt Col. I then redesigned the C/Airman and NCO promotion system and the C/Officer Training School curriculum. Finished the year as a C/Col receiving the Military Order of the Purple Heart Award, Leadership Ribbon, and the Superior Performance Ribbon. |
