Very interesting to say the least. Guess this is for the people who can't settle for shadow boxes lol.

A little off topic eh? Questions like that are better suited for PMs or visitor messages, but since you asked I'll tell. Quite simply, I simplified it. I just put what I felt like having there, what I am and what I feel are the important awards to me. I was starting to get annoyed at my "big sig," that's all.

Shadow Box v2.0 LOL

In all seriousness, it looks like a good product, and if it is still in production when my time comes and I feel like the investment is worth it to me, I may well purchase one.

I think it looks real good but nothing compares to a real good Shadow Box with Rank(in cloth)medals, ribbbons ,badges, nametag, unit awards, and your full rack with your Cords in the corners. That is a real shadow box. They are expensive(they both are).

There's nothing that defines what a "real" shadowbox is. A shadowbox is what you want it to be. I put together 2 shadowboxes (1 with medals and missing my drill meet awards, 1 with all ribbons) of my AJROTC awards, and while some will agree on the layouts and contents others may not.

To some, a shadowbox could be all their medals, badges, ribbons, ranks, awards, etc. carefully and precisely placed in a beautiful oak framed glass case worth hundreds of dollars. To others, it could be a bunch of pictures and some trinkets of where they've been and what they've done stuffed in a crappy, splintering cigar box. Like armysc_25b said, it varies.

As for me, I'm content with the latter. The coat-in-a-box looks great, but nothing brings back more memories than pictures and little tidbits left from the past.

How poetic lol...

I will probably just make a small shadow box for my JROTC awards. Just a small rectangle displaying my final rank, ribbons, and distinguished award. Everything else will find it's way into a crappy, splintering cigar box .
