Default The United States Naval Sea Cadet Corps

I saw that a few people in another thread had question about the Sea Cadets, but unfortunately those questions took the posts off topic, so I figured I'd make a topic for questions about the NSCC.

Official Website, contains unit locater and some good information:

Resources, contains regulations and pertinent links:

Thank you very much. I still have not gotten a reply back from the CO at my local unit.

Unfortunately, some states are pretty limited when it comes to Sea Cadet units. However, if you really love the program, make the commitment once or twice a month.

I second that Seminarian_Tim, and if it is to far for you to drive join JROTC in high school(permitting there is a program in your local school) or join Civil Air Patrol or The Young Marines, there tend to be a whole more CAP and YM units than NSCC units.

True. Each program has several different things to offer as well. I can't really speak for CAP or YM but with the NSCC, when I went to Boot Camp, it prepared me for it (knowledge wise) and opened several doors for me.

Well that's good for you, it shows commitment and that you are willing do more than what is expected of you.

Yeah, I think I'll look into joining CAP as well, since their is a unit somewhat pretty close to where I live and it doesn't require a heavy commitment.
