Well, what my unit uses would be ridiculous to post because it's really just a collection of random colors that were picked at random, I'm not kidding.
What I would use, and hope to next year: -Squadron Commander and Vice Commander - Solid Red -Staff Officers/NCOICs - Solid Orange -Flight Commanders - Solid Yellow -Drill Team - Solid Navy Blue -Color Guard - Solid White

We used to be like you TruBlu. This year, we decided to redo it. All officers get blue/milar silver. All in school preformances get orange/black (school colors). Any competition team wears white just for the competition. Honor Guard also uses the white. Team commanders get maroon. No ropes are issued just for being on a team.

The big problem that I have with changing ropes out is that every year since I've been there, and I'm sure many more before me, my unit has changed the ropes. So who's to say my system (using the color spectrum if you couldn't tell) is any better, simpler, and easier?

Our new solid red one's are kind of ugly. I'm trying to see if any of the seniors or juniors are willing to part with theirs. On top of that I am in color guard and I am the only one with the red cord.

You would need to get with your unit concerning those awards. The N-3-4 Drill Team Ribbon is awarded annually to Drill Team members (per CCR 145-2). The regulation does not prescribe award of the cord and arc, aside from stating that cords are only authorized to those who are active in the activity which the cord is awarded.

Wget Color guard awards(Cord,Ribbon and Arc/Tab) after we have completed five Color Guards. Drill team is issued if you have competed in a Competition. Raider is issued if you have competed and can succesfully do bith sides of the Rope Bridge.
