Thumbs up Birthday E-mail

Jeff,

I just wanted to say thanks for the e-mail on my birthday. I don't know if you took the time out yourself, or if it's just automated, but I appreciate it either way. It's a nice touch.

Artillery, if 13B and the background in his signature didn't already give it away.

Not a problem, Captain. Look at it this way, sir: at least I'm not a non-combat arms pouge. I'm just a DAGB.

Don't forget "KING OF BATTLE!"

Froggy's correct Drill, technically Artillery has a red chord, like Infantry has their beloved blue chord.

*And that is not meant to be interpreted as sarcasm. A former friend of mine is an infantryman. I attended both his Turning Blue ceremony (the ceremony on an infantryman's Family Day, where they are awarded their blue chord after completion of training at the US Army Infantry School, Fort Benning, GA) and his graduation. I asked him, on the way home, about which ceremony meant more, Turning Blue or Graduation? He told me Turning Blue. He said that having his fiancee place his chord on his right shoulder marked him as an official and full fledged infantryman, while his graduation simply meant that he was leaving his training unit at Fort Benning. *

Long story short, Artillery has a chord... we just don't wear it... sadly.
