Default After High School

What are your plans for after high school? School, military and school, or strait into the military.

Im a Senior and Im trying to get into the Guards and if I get in I might go to school depending on what Im doing for work and what my chances are for getting a full-time position in the Guards. If I do go to school I might go to either University of Northwestern Ohio for Automotive/Diesel Technology or maybe go to White Mountain Community College for Mobile Equipment Technology. I dont know.

College on the military's wallet and then a career in the Army. Want to go to West Point, but the Citadel is only 5 minutes away from me and I've got a lot of friends there, so that's my backup.

One of the only things that this country and every other country will always, always need is a military. I hate it when people say that you are risking it all and throwing your life away. They don't have to agree with your decision, but they shouldn't deny it either, its your choice and your country. I've thought so many times about simply enlisting, but I think officership is the way for me.

My dad is a Sergeant Major with 29 years in, and my Mom was a Major with 17. I think they know a lot. (Both Army BTW)

The main issue is that apparently, I'm smart (I have a 4.0 or somethin' like that GPA) and they want me to go to College. That's all.

Well, I didn't see that coming lol! You should go to college at some point. Enlisting doesn't stop you from going to college, you could go a few years in and become a mustang (or whatever they call the MC enlisted turns officer) or become a high NCO like you father. Or retire from the military early and go to college after wards.

A 4.0 is pretty damn good, that's all A's, you should think about college.

Eh... it's weighted. (Honors classes, all that stuff). I just do what any other High Schooler should do... try their best, do their work, get it done, and study...

As for MOS: I'm shootin' for 1812 (M1A1 Armor Crewman).

I'm going for 11A right away and then advance into Special Forces for 18A later. Or just stay on course as an Infantry Officer if I can't make it in Special Forces.
