Default Norwich Leadership Challenge Weekend?

Boy oh boy, Leadership Challenge weekend. Only a selected few are allowed to participate and I was the chosen few which I am really glad about When we get there they will spilt us up and place us in different platoons to meet new people from different JROTC programs. I'm a little nervous because I'll be seperated from my fellow cadets and I really don't know how to aproach people with out an awkward silence or feeling. And the P.T'ing, I can't really do push ups about 5 is my limit and sit-ups/crunches are a problem too, but I like to run so that's my plus. How do I P.T with out getting embarressed? Well probably most of the kids there will be physically fit. And when we have out "mini-olympics" how am I gonna get through the course with out feeling awkward and embarressed?

You just give it your best shot! None of use can excel at everything we can do. I am sure part of this challenge will be to see how well you ALL work together, and how quickly you become a team and work together. So much of the Military is based on this. You can do more as a Team than you can do alone.

You see your weaknesses, you know where you can Improve. You know your strengths and where you can Shine. Don't let the weaknesses rule your day. Allow your strengths to show who you are and what you can do.

Good Luck!

I don't have that problem:Acting really cocky:. Just give it your best shot. The big thing is to Believe in yourself: sarcasm:. You should really work on your P.T. Working out is knd of like a Mental Game if you can get past the pain then you can get stronger.

Yeah I'm not conceded. I don't have a problem with my P.T. Please PM me if you want to know my Work-out. You'll be able to get a 195 on your a Army P.T. test in one month, a 300 in two months.

People at your stage of life often worry about how they look. Leadership at your level is best measured by how well you follow directions and work with others. I would suggest that you always maintain a positive outlook. Avoid the temptation to openly criticize your peers. Help others be their best. You don't have to volunteer to be first to try anything, but don't shirk any task you are asked to perform. Your superiors/raters will be paying attention to evaluating how well you fit in and not looking to any specific measure of achievement. In any case do your best effort. Always remember that a military unit is a team.

Your right but it is a little embarrasing having people in your platoon being able to "dish" out 50 something push-ups and you being able to do about.....5. If I have to say so myself that's seems kinda bad.

Boy oh Boy am I glad to see this thread

I participated in this challenge weekend during the year of 2005. This was some of the most challenging, best times of my life, and prepared me greatly for better things. I applied to the Corp of Cadets after, and got denied via my GPA, but don't get discouraged, you will meet some of the most amazing individuals in your life.

Let me know how it goes for you.
