Regarding Moderators / Cadet Moderators / Cadet Staff
I wanted to take a minute to again welcome everyone to the new forum and let you know that this new board definitely remains a "work in progress"; there's still a number of items on our to-do list. Please don't feel slighted if you login to the new forum and notice that your former position appears to no longer exist (this mostly applies to the Cadet staff). Since we are now combining both the Cadet and Military forums on a single board, we are carefully reviewing our past hierarchy and deciding if we want to tweak any of the positions to better server our community here. So, in other words, we're still working out some of the details but please don't think that any of you have been forgotten! As always, please feel free to PM or email me with any questions or concerns.
I'm sure you have all noticed the speed issues we've been having recently on both of the "old" forums; this was part of the reason for combining the Cadet and Military forums into a single, consolidated, and more efficient forum. If you think about it, we were putting twice the amount of bandwidth on the site because we had two completely separate databases (one for the Cadet forum and one for the Military forum) that pretty much executed the same commands. Now, with the new forum, we can use a single database to serve all of our needs (while still maintaining segregation between the Cadet and Military areass) and hopefully see some speed increases as a result.
