Default I'm a Republican

Thought this pic and quote were appropriate. Read the quote, and substitute "America" for "Rome." It's as relevant now as it was then....

"The budget should be balanced, the treasury should be refilled, public
debt should be reduced, the arrogance of officialdom should be tempered
and controlled, and the assistance to foreign lands should be curtailed
lest Rome become bankrupt. People must again learn to work, instead of
living on public assistance.'" -- Cicero , 55 BC

I think I mentioned the parrallels between Rome and the US for the first time to my family about 5-6 years ago. They looked at me like I was crazy.

Hopefully, in this case, history will not repeat itself.

I happened to be driving around town today and noticed a group of McCain supporters on the side of the road. One sign they were holding read, "Abortion is an 'Obamanation'". I liked that one.

Appropriate, maybe, but not necessarily related.

I have yet to see an elected republican stand for the principles stated in that quote, except one of course.
