Default What're you driving? (Or want to drive.)

I'm posting this in the Cadet forum, but if any adult members feel like giving their word - I'd love to hear it!

I'm curious as to what you currently drive or what you want to drive. When I say this, I'm talking reasonable vehicles that you can actually afford at your current stage in life - not anything crazy like a Ferrari or Lamborghini at age 16. Lets hear the specifics on the car, and why you got it / wanted it.

For me currently, I'm trying to secure this internship with my dad's work. He's a Navy Civilian, so it's a DoD internship, and for a high school student, pays pretty well. With that said, this is what I'm lookin' at:

This is pretty much spot on for what I'm hoping to get. An '09 Toyota Tacoma Access Cab. I don't want to spend the extra few thousand on a 4x4, but this, for me at least, is just as good because I'll be getting the Prerunner version. For those who aren't familiar with ToyotaSpeak, a Prerunner is a truck that's equipped with a 4x4 suspension, 4x4 gear ratio, larger wheels, and various off-road preferences (depending on what package you get) like rear-locking differentials.

I know personally Toyotas are great vehicles, especially thier trucks. We've had two Camrys, and my dad has a '97 Tacoma that's still in perfect condition.

For me, this is looking at costing somewhere around 25 to 26K. For some, that may be a lot, but given the job I'll be getting, along with my parents who have pledged to help because of my good grades, it's lookin' good right now.

My parents are giving me their 1995 BMW 5.25i. My mom drives it now but she wants to get a new car so I will get the Beemer.

This car is similar to the one I have.

Last year, I traded in my previous vehicle for a 2008 Ford Escape XLT FWD. For me, it's been everything I was looking to upgrade for. Had a small pickup truck previously, so I was looking for the upgrade in seating space. In terms of fuel economy, I gained a little over what I had before. Overall, it was a better decision and based on how much it's been driven (back and forth to FL a couple times, across GA quite a bit, and up into KY a couple times), it's paid off for me. Slightly cheaper than Phoenix's truck (the one I got was in the $22K range), and I'm proud to say that I have no co-signer or anything like that for it.

Drive an 05 Chevy Colorado, which I love.

Restoring from the ground up a 1985 Jeep CJ7. It'll be on a 4.5 in lift, with a 1 in body lift and 35 in tires. Best Jeep going.

Eventually I want to restore a 50s mustang.

Is a 69' Z-28 Camaro too far out for ya'all to believe? Because me and my Dad fixed one up for me a couple of years ago. Ever since i was a little kid, i was amazed at how much muscle this model of the Camaro could produce!

Hands down has to be the Nissan 350Z. Although I can't drive yet (oh, so very close...only a few more months until my license) Since I have no experience driving the car, the best I can come up with is that I love the look of the car. Shallow, I know, but hey! Beautiful car in my eyes.

'08 JEEP Wrangler. Gets me where I wanna go, and has all the room I need. Fun to drive. I've had it in the woods and on the beach...drives equally as well everywhere. V-6, 6-speed, 2 door, and 4wd. Forest green w/ a black hard top. Wish it still had the straight-6 (more torque), but the V-6 gets better MPG.

Well currently, I'm driving a HMMWV. But in "real life" I have a POS Jeep Grand Cherokee with a missing window, and numerous problems, but it gets me around.

I would put up some pictures, but the connection speed is too slow.

This is what I drive when going back and forth to school, work, etc...

1996 Dodge Dakota SLT with the 3.9L V6 Magnum engine in it. Automatic, but with a few extra 'tweaks' to it. This truck has been airborne a few times, though the first time was completely on accident.

This is what I drive around 'for fun...'

2001 Ford box-type ambulance. This specific ambulance is ambulance 227 on the Jackson First Aid Squad, and it is for all intents and purposes my ambulance. I've done so much with regards to this ambulance (i.e., added a lot of miles to it, drove it through a brick retaining wall {interesting story behind that, but I'll save it}...), and yet it still runs. At that, the rig's developed a personality that apparently likes me. Some people have had issues starting her, only for me to get in right after them and fire her right up. The plus side of this ambulance as compared to the other ambulances of the fleet is that it has 2 pole lights, which can be focused in any direction, and adjusted for height. She's the only one in our current fleet that has them.
