Exclamation Civil Air Patrol Constitution and Bylaws

Hello all fellow CAP members,

The Civil Air Patrol Constitution and bylaws are the very 'essence' of what our organizations missions and purpose are, and also outlines the way the organization is to be operated and organized.

Very few of our members have ever read this, and therefore, have little understanding of what the organization is 'supposed' to be above their local unit.

I would recommend that all CAP members, and people interested in joining CAP read this, so they can better understand the true nature of our organization.

Just as the US constitution trumps local laws and rules, CAP's constitution trumps regulations that have been passed without consideration for what it outlines.

NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the National Board of Civil Air Patrol that the following is adopted as the Constitution and Bylaws of the Corporation, hereby revoking, repealing, and annulling all provisions of its Constitution and Bylaws as amended heretofore in effect.
