Default Hey everyone

It's been awhile since I've posted here and noticing that my previous account was terminated during the website's renovation, I've recreated my profile and wish to return to some of the topics discussed here. However, before I do so, I feel compelled to introduce myself once more to some of the newer members as well as some of the veterans who either vaguely remember me or have no clue who I am altogether. I'm a Religious Program Specialist (RP) currently on active duty in the U.S. Navy. I'm a jack of all trades when it comes to my actual job, but at its very (and I emphasize "very") basic core, an RP performs various administrative tasks in meeting the needs of the Command Religious Program for Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard units as well as ensuring the physical security of Chaplains in combat environments. As an RP, I am one of the few Sailors, along with Hospital Corpsman and Seabees, who has the rare and prestigious privilege of serving directly beside the tip of our nation's spear--the United States Marine Corps. My ultimate goal in life is to be a high school history teacher, specifically U.S. military history which is one of the numerous reasons why I am serving our country today. I'm 19 years old, my religious preference is Baptist and I am generally politically incorrect. If there is anything else you would like to know, please ask and I will accomodate your request as best as I can. Thank you and I look forward to "meeting" you all again.

Respectfully,

Cyclone

Welcome to the new-side of Grunt's, Cyclone! I came across myself, just today, actually.

Welcome, Cyclone! I'm looking at becoming a military Catholic chaplain, so it's good to see someone from religious ministries here. What made you become an RP?

I became an RP because I grew up in the church. I wanted to serve in the military and continue growing in my faith with God. Many argue that this can be accomplished without serving in the religious ministry team, and I agree. However, my greatest reward is when a member of the congregation, Soldier, Sailor, Airman, Marine or civilian, approaches the Chaplain and me and says "thank you for everything you do". Anyway, now I'd like to extend my thanks to everyone for welcoming me back.
