Default USMC Professional Reading Lists

Like I did in the Army Section, here is a link to the USMC Professional Reading program. Click here.

Look over to the right and there is a link to a Word Document that lists the books by rank.

I heard about this. James Conway wants every Marine to read this book...Ugh.. I forgot the name. I know a book for a officer is The Art of War. I am reading a book that I urge everyone to read, It's called The Marine by James Brady. It's about James"Oliver"Cromwell. He was a Marine Raider officer in World War 2, and a Infantry Officer in Korea. It's a great book.

That would probably be ill advised advice for our cadets.

They probably do, but in the cadet area, we try to display some kind of decorum. There are certain pieces of advice and experience that we try to pass on to these young minds. The rest of the bad habits, they’ll pick up after they get to their 1st assignment. They really don’t need our assistance there.

Excuse me, you just summarized the WHOLE Cadet forum in one post. I don't mean to be dis-respectful but that was a low blow and I feel kind of hurt. JohnP I'm gonna try not to get into those bad habit's when I'm in the U.S. Marine Corps, oh JohnP just wanted to say thanks again for your help I really respect you and want you to know that.

I expect big things from you because I expect you to do your best.

Thanks for your loyalty and I also expect that loyalty transferred to your unit.

Good Drills. Any fool knows that given a choice between eating a steak (or more likely a fat greasy burger with a lot of gristly bits) and staring at a photograph of the finest sirloin the choice has to be to get some scran down your neck.
