Cool What’s your favorite Weapon?

My personal favorite is the Barret BMG .50. I like it because of the supreme fire power it offers but I also like the design and the feel of the gun.

As far as individual weapons, I like the M4. It is modular so I can put all the bells and whistles on it that I want (usually a M203 must be standard). Plus in CQB, I like the compact nature of the weapon, and if the need arises you can reach out to 300meters (ish).

For crew served weapons, I will go with the M240B. It is a bit heavy for a dismounted weapon, but with the right optics it can be used as a great long range point weapon. Of course the rate of fire is great for it's primary role as an area weapon.

I love the AK-47. Although the sights are crap, it's highly reliable, and, it isn't too heavy.

As far as what I've shot, the M16A4. Its extremely accurate and well balanced. Only downside to it for me is that it is chambered 5.56 instead of the 7.62, but that does increase accuracy and velocity.

Historically, the M1 Garand. With it being semi-automatic and a clip fed design, it has proved to be one of the most reliable weapons in US service. Also being a 30-O6 rifle (.30 on some modified weapons), it packs plenty of stopping power.

The rifle that I think would be my favorite if I shot it, the M468 via Barret. A rifle that has the stopping power of an AK-47 (or any other 7.62 really), the accuracy of an M16, and the compact design of the M4, chambered at the brand new (at least I think it is...) 6.8. That would be a really fun gun to get hands on.

The Barett M-107 is HEAVY. I would only fire that thing from the prone position with plenty of sandbags. Favorite Designated Marksman rifle would have to be the SVD, simply because... it's awesome. However, I do love the M-16A2 service rifle (I haven't fired the A4 variant), as there is virtually no kick, so the bullet stays on target.

The Green Beret is my favorite weapon ; just playing. Seriously though i've always been a fan of the .45 pistol. It has proved to be an effective side arm in engagments, it was also a favorite of my Grandfather's, so its possible i inherited genetic favoritism from him. I own an Armed Forces Commerative signed by John Wayne himself, on the .45 pistol, that i inherited from my Grandfather RIP. It gives a more classic feel, without seeming "old", and performs better under stress unlike the modern USP pistol.

Last warning. Opinions are OK, but just spouting off as to a favorite without telling us why does not contribute to a discussion. If you like particular weapon, tells us why you like it. If you dislike a weapon tell us why. I am sure you all have reasons why you like or dislike a particular weapon. That makes for interesting discussion.

In close-quarters I prefer the MP5 due to the fact it's manueverable yet still packs a punch. The recoil is nice and gentle which leads to increased accuracy. I also like the M4 Super 90, it's modular which allows you to modify your weapon quickly as the environment changes.
