I realize that this show happened a long time ago on PBS, but I was wondering what everybody thought about it and if they watched it at all. The Catholic Chaplain in the show is actually stationed at Naval Station Newport and is a GREAT man.
So here it is: http://www.pbs.org/weta/carrier/ Did anybody like it? Hate it? Thinks it's completely fake?

Originally, I thought it would be a perfect recruiting tool for the Navy. Now that I've seen it, I have my doubts. I think that show gives a certain humanism to sailors on deployment that I don't think I've see on any other documentary in a while. The media likes to portray servicemen and women as a statistic, but "Carrier" shows these people as concrete human being with hopes and fears. I liked it a lot. They also had an entire episode about religion and they had a Navy chaplain who I'm familiar with, so that was cool.

I'm a little biased, but I really liked the episode about faith in the military. It's a facet that's rarely seen or spoken about, since most people like to concentrate on who has the biggest weapons or largest bombs.

I have a little question for you. Did you see the episode about the airman who worked on the ship conning tower? Why would an airman be on a United States Navy ship? I am a little confused, could someone please clerify?
