Default Blackwater

There was a thread on the 18+ forum about the private contracting company Blackwater that I saw earlier. Seeing as though us minors/non-adults can't participate in discussions on that forum, I thought I might see what the youngins down the totem pole might think of the subject.

Personally, I think Blackwater has provided a tremendous amount of assistance and support to our troops around the world's hotspots. Most, if not all of the employees of Blackwater have some Military and/or Law Enforcement experience, not to mention it was founded by a former US Navy SEAL, I mean it's not like they don't know what they're doing. The fact of the matter is, our military is stressed by the load of the new combat environments they face and they can use the help Blackwater offers.

Sound off! What do you think?

Black Water and companies like it in my opinion are a good thing. When these companies are employed by the government, its a win-win situation for everyone, the government is getting more manpower for its operations and these guys are getting paid. America is built on business, and these companies are just that, businesses.

For anyone who wants to know more about Black Water, here's a good blog link that I learned a lot from. http://rncnyc2004.blogspot.com/2007/...water-usa.html

I totally agree. Blackwater has been the life saving line for many U.S. diplomats over the past years. And by being formar military, they know all the tricks of the trade (and then some). Except for a few incidents in the past, they have always made the United Staes look good in the aspect of forigen and domestic protection for our nations highest leaders.

Cadet

This post has many spelling errors. I suggest that you at least attempt to get better.

And just where do you get the idea that these people are all former military? Do you have a knowledgeable source for that information? I happen to know for a FACT, through personal contact, that while MOST are former Military, some are not. Making broad statements like that without first hand knowledge or a quotable source is just foolish.

And these folks do NOT protect all of our Highest Leaders.

We need to be careful when we discuss things we are not directly familiar with or involved in.

I have been offered work with Private Military Companies, but have never accepted (at least not yet), and would be hesitant to comment on these folks due to that reason despite working with them in both theaters of operation.

All contractors working with the Military have a purpose. As was stated, sometimes there are hiccups. However, I think that their contributions have been skewed in the eyes of the "youngins" on this board, and like most military jobs, not all of them are as "sexy" as you see on TV/youtube.
