I wrote this to Benshotalot and he advised that I post this on the forum. Im sorry for all the stuff I've caused. Send me private messages if need be to yell at me some more... *sigh*
First off, you have me all wrong. Im not technically who I say I am of course. But Im just a high aspiring recruit in the Marine Corps DEP program. I have high ambitions for the Marine Corps. When I go in to the MC im not just gonna sit back and be a "plain" marine. I wanna be the top and feel like I've accomplished something in my life... Im sorry if I broke the rules of some sorts. But hey, im not just sitting here acting. I'll try my damned hardest to bust my ass off and be truly what I lead off to be. Atleast give people something to be proud of. Lived a pretty hard life and such. My older brothers an alcoholic, my other older bro went to college then dropped out. My 2 younger brothers need someone that they can look up too. Thats all there is to it. I have alot on my shoulders to show these guys that someone in our family can make it and be pretty damn good at what we're doing. I was in a naval Jrotc. Top marksman in my school, county, and state. I was the first one out of my school to ever achieve expert marksman. When I first went there our rifle team had no ambitions. Not very many people interested and things like that. But I was able to pull everything together and in that year alone, we had out 4 top shots in the school picked out and brought home over 12 trophys that year. Ever since then all I've thought about it joining the Marines. I meen of course they always stood out to me when I was little, always wanted to be the one to stand up and fight for everyone else. But when I got into JROTC, one of out instuctors was a Marine. I looked up to that guy. He was like another dad, or someone I highly respected. My dad wasn't very great, not really a person you'd look up to and he wasn't a very encouraging person. But other then all that. I joined Jrotc weighing around 225 and through those ambitions of looking up to Top and joining the marines. I came out weighing 175. Anyways, I dont necessarily like thinking about all this stuff. But if you choose to go public with it then its completely your choice sir. I respect you just like I do all the other service members and my elders. I didn't meen to stir up trouble or controversy. Thanks for taking the time to read this Semper Fidelis.....

Thank you for your honesty. It must have taken a lot for you to post this. In regards to your portraying yourself to be something you're not, you have my forgiveness. What I cannot do is forget. Unfortunately, I am no longer able to trust you at your word, at least until you prove to all of us that this is an isolated incident. I accept your apology Pinpoint Killer, and thank you once again for being honest while also allowing us to understand why you did what you did. However, please understand that there will be consequences as a result of what has occurred. If you truly wish to give people something to be proud of, then learn from your mistake and become a better person because of it. There is nothing that says "Marine" quite like finding the good in even the worst situations. God bless, I'll be praying for you. Tim

Some of the best Marines I ever had working for me where the ones that screwed up at some point in their military career. They were able to apply lessons learned, although they did have to work twice as hard to prove it.

I can't fault you for having dreams, being someone you want your family to look up to. I've been there, trying to be the positive role model for my brother to turn his negative ways around (which he's done in his own way). To live out those dreams in an online world is tough to follow through with, though, especially in a tight-knit military forum such as this. To admit you did this though, shows you are willing to learn from your mistakes and move on to bigger and better things in your life. I wish you nothing but the best in your future, and hope that one day your dreams come true.

PaulR,
Thanks sir, I realized that after speaking with 'Benshotalot' for a short time. He helped me set things straight in the forums and provided me with guidance. _ Also I thank you all for your help, Im going to stick around. You all deserve the respect in itself of me staying and myself earning it back. If I practiced bailing out now when things get tough or a little akward, what would that lead me to be in my future, right?

In short order a few of us knew you were not a Marine. It set off some alarms and the hair on our necks. You have to realize that trying to portray something that you are not is wrong and could be hurtful. Seems like you have come to your senses, you've admitted your mistakes and I'm good with that.
I think it is only fair that the True Marines here voice how they feel.
