Default It is confirmed!!

I just found out today, officially, that I am above the cut for E7! In the Coast Guard, this is a huge threshold to cross. The soonest I can be advanced is 01Jan, but am guaranteed to have it before 31Dec09. I am number two on the list so I am hoping it is closer to the January date. Please forgive my tone, but this is the most excited I have been in a very long time!

Bravo Zulu on making CPO! That's awesome, good for you. Wear those anchors with pride!

Stepping into the Senior NCO ranks is a huge step. One that really puts the meaning into one's career track. I was very proud when I tacked on my Master Sergeant Stripes, even more so when I added the Diamond Device for a First Sergeant.

A Wonderful personal achievement for you Paul! Well Done!

Thanks for the kind words of support!! They sincerely mean a lot, as I have a lot of respect for the lot of ya!

As a former Devil Dog, I sorta wish I were tacking on Gunny but Coasties and Devil Dogs have always made a great team(since WW2!).

Since I graduated the Air Force's SF-IDMT(Advanced Independent Duty Medical Technician) course at Sheppard AFB, I figured that I might as well go ahead and attend the Air Force's Senior NCO School. (The CG and the AF have some sort of agreement for a student exchange for this school).

I have just received orders to the new CG Homeland Defense class cutter, the USCGC BERTHOLF next July1. She was just commissioned on the CG's Birthday on 4 Aug. By the time I report, she should be fully operational!! She is not large by Naval standards, but she has a bit of a kick!! I excited to see what the adventures the CG's new flagship will be in for!

Paul, what's the breakdown of ratings on that kind of cutter? Are there a lot of BMs? GMs?

Also, is it common for a Senior Enlisted Advisor to be appointed before the ship itself is ready for duty? The pamphlet says that the Command Senior Chief was appointed 13 days before the ship was launched...
