Default Asvab

So, I took the ASVAB today... expect my scores back next week, so, I'll post those here as well...

Anyways, the ASVAB (to me at least) was super easy, save for the Automotive Section. What did some of you guys think about the ASVAB (if you've taken it), and, what have you recieved on it?

I get to take the ASVAB this year and am pretty excited about it. And there is an Automotive section? What are all the sections?

Haha~

Gee, the good ol' ASVAB. Let's see, a few years back. I hated the darn Automotive section along with the Geometry with the math, and lastly the weird little symbol thing's. I don't test take well, not to mention it took like five hours. Started it at 6pm, was out by 11pm. My Scores came back a few weeks after, I passed, and qualified for all the extra moo-laa. My Line Scores were better then my overall, with my overall being in the high sixties. (I think 69?) which is pretty good considering that I had a migraine headache during the test. Not a good thing to have during the ASVAB.

Defiantly let us know the outcome of your test, I was wondering how you did, because you told me that you had the test today. How are those unit issues?

I need to take the ASVAB this year and was wondering when the dates were. I looked for them on Google but couldn't find them anywhere.

...maybe I wasn't searching the right things?

talk to your local recruiter he/she can administer an ASVAB test, anytime you're ready to take one(for free).

Many schools have a date where they will offer the ASVAB to the military's prosepctive recruit group (the juniors and seniors). Get with your Guidance Counselor to get this info. Or speak to a recruiter and see what they can do, I know back home the recruiters tested prospects at least twice a month with their own facility and staff.

So there are no nationally set dates like the SAT or ACT?

Cadet,

This is a Military PLACEMENT Exam! It tries and finds your potential and what your possible best career path might be. In 5 years it will mean little or it could mean a lot (if you need to Cross-Train). Why would you place someone in the Motor Pool if their Test lead you to believe that they are better suited to be a UAV Sensor Operator?

The only thing I will say is try to excel in the ASVAB so it won't limit you to your career choices. Take some of the Pre-Tests that the Recruiters can give you or look for them on-line so that you get comfortable with the style and type of questions they ask. That is the best thing you can do.

Also remember that you can RE-TEST and if your scores are marginal, it is BEST for you to do so!
