I was wondering if i could get some information on the Marine Corps side of the Naval Academy. The website is very large and hard to navigate and i can not find much info on it. Also if anyone could "PM" me i would like to give you a brief resume just to make sure i am on the right track.

If you are in a hurry, contact the USNA directly. If not, you can leave a message for KaMiKaZi and wait for a response. I don't know how long it will take as he has graduated and has not been seen in this port much, and I know of no other Midshipman at the USNA that has a membership here.

I have a buddy of mine who's at the academy right now and is trying to go the Marine option.
Contact a Blue and Gold recruiter and they should be able to help you out. If not, send me a PM and next time I hit port and can get on, I'll try and get him to call or email you.

If it's anything like it was 15 years ago (wow), the Marine Corps is one possible choice for your wish list coming out of the Academy. Essentially, they have an order of merit list and if you are high enough and the slots are still available, you can select it. Many go to the USNA with the hopes of becoming a Marine...

...on the other hand, you could go to the US Military Academy at West Point, learn infantry tactics for four years, and attempt to branch Marine Corps (I had two classmates that successfully went to the Marines, one to the USAF and one to the USN). If you fail in your bid to become a Marine, you can fall back on the Infantry crossed rifles of the Army. You could become a member of the 82nd Airborne Division, the 101st, the 10th Mountain, the 3rd Infantry Division. These are great units.

...and then if you really prove your mettle you could apply to become one of the most elite warriors on the planet: a green beret.

Food for thought.

If it is okay from the MODs for me to point you towards this site, it would probably be of great use to you. I believe a few members from this site are members on this other forum. It is dedicated strictly to Academies and ROTC. serviceacademyforums.com You can talk to more USNA grads then you could possibly imagine.

Are you more set on being a Marine Officer or going to the Naval Academy? I think answering that question will help you figure out what you want to do.

Deadliest Warrior would disagree with you. They did a over 1000 simulated tests between a squad of Green Beret's and Spetsnaz, and the Spetsnaz won something like 56% of the battles.

Though of course that's all simulated and I believe a Green Beret or Navy Seal could easily take out a Spetsnaz

If you ended up going Surface Line or Naval Aviator, would that cause you to leave the Academy?
