Default Is this possible?

Would it be possible for all of the threads from the old Cadet Forum to be transferred here, as well as everyone's forum rank? I just think that everyone would be better off if this would be done, in time of course.

It's possible, if someone has the time and expertise to copy and paste each thread in the correct category. Are you volunteering?

I would volunteer to do such a job. I have knowledge in CSS, Java and BHTML as well as AHTML and XML, so I think I'm over qualified, but am volunteering to do so. If it is possible.

But since this is a new forum, we are having a fresh start, which is what is needed sometimes. So I would have to say that even though I volunteer, things are better the way they are, to give everyone a fresh start. Just my .002

Nah I think fresh starts deserve to speak for themselves. Besides I got tired of looking at them old threads.

Cadet,

Post count and Rank mean little. Numerous people in both forums had such high post counts that to start over, means just that. Some of us, this will be like the 4th time we've had to do that, so for us, it's a mute point. We deal with it and move on.

Google has much of our stuff archived so if you need it, then fetch it. It seems a new year brings the same questions anyway, so you'll get to mentor some of your fellow Cadets with the knowledge you have gained from being here.

I caution you not to start importing superfluous posts. Some are worthy of being brought back while most will come back via someone else’s question.

Like I said...fresh starts are much better.

For me this would be my fourth round up I believe, correct me if I wrong, TOP. But, post count, and rank mean nothing unless you have something valid to bring to the table for discussion. We are here to build knowledge and leadership, not post count.

While your question is a good one...its value amongst, like TOP said, those of us whose fourth go round this is, really means little. Show me that you can teach cadets things that you have learned here and build there character that much more for it than you will have more respect that stripes can give you.

Really to me there are only two sets of stripes that matter...those on our nations flag...and those shed by Christ on the cross for us.

I can definitely see both sides of this argument; on the one hand, people did put a lot of time and effort into building an active community on our previous forum(s), but ultimately I have to agree that starting "fresh" is the best option in this case. I remember saying this a few times before, but hopefully this board will stand the test of time and we won't need to upgrade yet again in another few years!
