Default Makin Marines

A friend sent this to me by email. These Marines, their families and the Marine Corps as an institution deserve the honors and America's gratitude.

Good find, Wukong.

Good find; keep up the good work!

It's amazing how good the recruiting program is for the US Marine Corps. The only good commercials I’ve seen for the US Air Force was when they were promoting PJs. The one where the kid jumps off a waterfall after a backpack then resurfaces in a wetsuit, at sea, during a storm.

The other services could learn a lot from watching the Marine Promotions.

Something that is not common knowledge is that recruiting advertising budgets are not approved by the Services but by the DOD. The advertising dollars are directly related to the difficulty in meeting recruiting goals. I suspect that the one PJ ad was related to PJ recruitment shortfalls. Whether you noticed or not, AF recruiting ads are rare.

Thanks Wukong. A good video to watch.

And yes, it wasn't until recently that the Air Force had to spend any money for recruitment ads. As far as public relations are concerned, the Corps seems to always have the best PR. History, of course, has enabled this to happen....but Marine Corps commercials always seem to trample the competition. Even Harry Truman was (begrudgingly) surprised at the level that the Corps could lobby.
