Here is a vidoe of Recruit Training. No it is not high quality, just watch how the Drill Instructors act and how the recruits react.

Thanks for that, I have always wanted to see that documentary? I suppose you would call it that. Anyway, I laughed at what some of the things the DI's said, though I wont when its me they are screaming at.

It's gonna be hard, my friend's told me that they pissed there pant's a couple of times because of what the DI's said. They said sometimes it's like being with that crazy friend of yours who is serious but gets real crazy and funny when he gets mad and makes you guys do crazy crap because he likes to see you suffer.

In what ways would basic course for officers be different than recruit training?

I'm not an expert, but that would depend on which way said officer gains commission. In the Marine Corps, there are four ways to gain commission: PLC, OCC, NROTC/MCROTC, and the USNA under a Marine contract. Look them all up and compare them, you will see that they differ greatly.

Not because I directly know, but PBS did a documentary of OCS. More is focused on leading Marines, than learning how to follow orders (as in Recruit Training).

I can't say that I know from experience, but I had the same question. I watched the documentary grunt0311 is speaking of, or one like it, I believe someone put it up on the forum here, and did research on my own. I can say that grunt0311 is right in the fact that OCS and related courses teach you how to lead as an officer. They do many LRC's (Leadership Reaction Courses) to test the candidates ability to react, think fast, and lead. Sometimes the courses are not even meant to be completed (as in the candidates fail) but they are to see how they react, lead, and problem solve. They also refer to themselves as candidates rather than recruits when speaking in 3rd person. Apparently they got leave on the weekends or a day out of the week to go to whatever as long as the were dressed in a collard shirt, belt, slacks, and appropriate shoes, but I can't say that is a fact.

No, I mean the basic officer course officers take after being commissioned.
