What is this patch for? I have seen it on a couple of soldiers and have no idea what its for? I've only seen it on ACUs.

I remember reading an article on it when they first had Soldiers start wearing it. The recruiters I was at WLC with all had that patch, and the Chief of Staff and Sergeant Major of the Army wear it. I think it was said somewhere that the IET Soldiers would also be authorized it, but I've never seen it on a trainee. I do remember though that it's only authorized for wear on the ACU's, there isn't a comparable Class A patch made, and, for example, recruiters still wear the USAREC patch on their Class A's.

The U.S. Army patch is worn when you aren't assigned to a unit (a recruiter for example).
The President hundred tab: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/President%27s_Hundred_Tab I don't mean to be rude butting in on your topic C/1LT Hazard but I need to ask a question. Why do some people where Airborne Tabs when it is not one of the four permanent wear tabs(and when it is not part of the unit patch)?

All the Airborne tabs I have seen, are part of the patch, even if its not sewed on the patch,
It could just be one of those things people do and get away with, just like hands in the pockets or putting your id tag in your boot.

Also, most units that used to belong to the 18th Airborne Corps all had the airborne tab with their unit patch, but that has now changed. Oh and for the Army Star Patch - http://www.tioh.hqda.pentagon.mil/Al...rLogoPatch.htm |

At NTC (National Training Center) and even at COP Wilderness I've had people ask "Is that a real unit?"
