Man claims vet status should let him steal

FORT PIERCE, Fla. — Authorities say they arrested a man who claimed he was justified in stealing candy from a Fort Pierce truck stop because he had served in the military.

Police say an officer confronted 31-year-old Eric T. Ambrose at the truck stop early Monday morning. The officer reported finding several packages of candy and nuts, two black T-shirts and a 20 oz. bottle of beer in Ambrose’s pockets. He said he had paid for all the items, but a clerk denied ringing up any purchases for Ambrose.

A report states that while in the patrol vehicle, Ambrose screamed out the window that he had served in the military over in Iraq and could steal all the M&M’s he wanted.

His veteran status could not be immediately verified.

Ambrose was charged with retail theft. He was being held on $5,000 bail.

It's people like this that just P**s me off.

Oh, no, no, Ambrose - being in the military means that you abide by a HIGHER standard than the sagging-pants-wearing, drooling, "baby daddies" out there.

Of course, that should apply even to non-military types, but we all see how society's sliding downhill.

We used to have a janitor here at work who did an excellant job.... when he showed up. When the boss man went to fire him for his bad attendance record, the guy said that he should keep his job because he was a Marine Corp vet.
He got fired anyway.
