Default Which cord is used for JROTC?

On parade store, there are many different cords. Does anyone know which one is the one used for JROTC? Many look similar. Like the drill team cord and such. I would post links, but I'm not sure I'm allowed.

There really isn't a specific set of cords that anyone uses, it's mostly dependent on the uniform you are wearing. That said, what is the uniform you are wearing? Is it a coat or shirt? Does it have epaulets to attach a cord to, or do you not and need a pin to fasten it to the shoulder?

Every unit uses differnet cords/colors for various things. Most unit's in my region use citation cord's but we only use citation cords for Officers, staff.BNCO, adn the XO. The rest of your cords are just regular cords(Ex, the infantry Blue cord). It varies between schoo/uniform.

Cadets, there is a regulation that governs the cords that are worn by Cadets. No more. Find the regulation and cite the information that is provided. I just looked it up, and it took about 5 minutes to find the answer to what the OP asked.

I was wondering how long it would take before someone advised taking a gander at the governing directives. Thank you CGF!

Now because that still leaves part of it unanswered, as in the type of fastener which would certainly fall under the which cord is used question, what type of uniform are you placing the cord on? Official regulations can answer most questions, but not all, all of the time.

Looking at the figure in the CCR, it shows the cord being attached to the button that holds the epaulet closed. It also shows it on the "issue" uniform, which is either the Class A or B uniform. Which makes sense, because wearing a bright red or white cord on a field uniform doesn't make a lot of sense.

It really doesn't matter as I was told. Depends on your unit.

Unfortunately, the regulation doesn't spell out that that style cord is the only one authorized, or that the colors they recommend in the section describing cords are the ones required for use by every school.

That being said, most schools will use the standard, no bells and whistles cord for general use, then have "fancier" cords for other uses. At least, that's what my experience in JROTC proved.

Well in my region every school besidesmy unit uses some fancy cord and has 15 different cords. It is confusing and just complicated. We do mix it up a bit though.
White-Flag Detail
Dark Blue-Color Guard
Tan-Raider
We do not use black.
