What uniform do you like best?

This if for AIR FORCE only. These are the uniforms from and to the next 3 years.

BDUs - Battle Dress Uniform
TBUs - Temperate Battle Uniform
ABUs - Airman Battle Uniform
OCBs - Open Collared Blues
SDBs - Service Dress Blues
MDBs - Mess Dress Blues
OCBs w/ jacket
CCBs - Closed collar blues (OCBs w/ tie)

or the New Service coat they are going to issue out soon.

Personally, I like the CCBs, mainly because it gives the professional look but at the same time it does not encumber you too much and look too formal.

I'm a maintenance guy, I like my BDUs with black boots. Helps to cover up all the grease and other junk that I manage to cover myself in on a regular basis.

I see the different uses for the different uniforms. Security Forces will have me in my ABU's a lot for the field aspect of my training, and are therefore the most practical uniform (and hence my favorite) for that scenario. For a more formal situation, I like my service dress uniform. When properly presented (as every uniform, dress and field, should be), it is sharp and displays a professional appearence, like a dress uniform should. In such a case, that would be my uniform of choice (so also my favorite in that situation).

Back when I was Security Forces I preferred whatever uniform would keep me warm and dry out in the barren wasteland. This meant BDUs with gortex in wet weather, and bear suit in cold weather. Unfortunately, I used up a lot of sets of BDUs. Now that I have more of a maintenance role and you can't get BDUs anymore anywhere, I've had to accept my new ABUs, mainly because it's hard to climb precariously atop a tall antenna or tower in anything else. The puke green boots however are junk, they stain extremely easy, I'm on my 3rd pair. I sure wish I could get my hands on some good BDUs though, seems like I'm going through ABUs as fast as CSS goes through paper. I don't, however mind wearing my blues at all, and have become more accustomed to it since cross training out of Security Forces. You don't wear blues much when in Security Forces unless you are in deep, or have to represent one of your Airmen who is in deep, so it becomes somewhat foreign.

I like the Ceremonial Uniform for the Honor Guard. It's better than the Blues but my Ceremonial Uniform fits a lot better than my Blues. I don't have ABUs yet but I'm tried of ironing my BDUs and my BDUs are pretty old now and with all the hairspray I have put into those things since 2006 it's about time to change to ABUs.
