Default Medical Question..

Alright well im already in DEP program, signed up for 5 years back in August.. ive been training sense June for boot camp and a month after signing up I got hurt in an accident.. I turned in all my medical work for my head injury and had doctors write letters so I would have more of a chance of getting cleared.. but when they wrote the letters they noted that I had, had hearing loss in my right ear... so MEPS read the letters and scheduled a counsol for me to come down and see a hearing specialist.. so I did this about 2 days ago and I took the beeping test and I scored perfectly in my left ear but my right ear was pretty bad... I saw the results of the test and the old results for my right ear being at the very top of the chart and the new ones in the middle of the chart so im thinking the chart says I have about 50-60% hearing left... but she proceeded to give me a pressure test and the pressure test was saying that I had 10% hearing in my right ear... anyways im waiting on my BuMed right now.. but what are the chances of me still leaving in March for boot camp??? the guys for the Marines up their at Meps said that most BuMeds pass so I should not have anything to worry about at all... but im still worrying my ass off... but have has their ever been a history of people being signed up and being hurt in the DEP program before boot camp and experiencing hearing loss and still getting in? thx you guys for the time and all I appreciate it.

I don'r know what to tell you except good luck. You will probaly be accepted but you won't be allowed to be in a combat MOS.

What is your MOS?

Wait that doesn't make sense you have to be a E-4 to even qualify to attend EOD school usually it is a Re-enlistment option. Something doesn't make sense here.

JohnnyUSMC,

You are most likely not going to find the answers that you seek here. You need to get to your recruiter's office and sit down with him and discuss your options.

This thread is now closed. Questions, PM me.
