Default New Pistol

Well I picked up my first firearm about 2 weeks ago. I wanted to start with something that would be fairly inexpensive to shoot, but also something I liked and felt good in my hand. I ended up going with a Walther P-22 and I'm going to the range to shoot it for the first time tomorrow. I included a picture of the fun below and will bring back some more pictures for everyone to check out tomorrow.

Did you get the pure black or did you get the OD one? If its the OD, Im so jelous, all they had in my area is the black one. Also good pick I just got one a few weeks ago, and I love it. Never had a jam yet, and I've put at least 3 bricks of .22s through it.

Also if your looking for a fun rifle for plinking get the Ruger 10/22. You will love it.

Mine looks just like the one in the picture, OD with a black slide, it's awesome. It was also the last OD one they had.

Lucky, I love the way the OD looks, did you pick up any extended mags with it? Also If you have the money, getting the 6" barrel kit is well worth it.

Walther makes good guns. You'll be happy with your purchase. Congrats!

Report from the range:

All in all a good day, put some rounds through it, and I did have a few jams, but my guess is those were due to the fact that it probably needs some cleaning and a bit of lube. Nothing that will really bother me too much. Now it's just a matter of getting used to shooting it, but from what I have shot, I already love it.

Great piece, Soccermark and the right caliber to start out with. I have this feeling it won't be your last one. Get to know her, get to undressing her and keeping her clean. Safe shooting! Do stop and come join us at the NRA!

You have made a typical newbie mistake. Did you even think about this purchase? Walther had always made the finest of firearms so what can you blame it on if you miss?

It is much better to buy some kind of cheap junk that you can blame for any misses but take complete credit for the hits.

I don't know about you buddy but I don't need to blame my mistakes on anybody but myself, I take full credit for anything and everything I do. I know I'm not going to be a crack shot right off the bat because my previous shooting experience involves the M-16A2.

Everyone is going to expect high scores from a nice gun like that. Now you have no choice but to practice until you become very good with it. That is the hard way.

If it had been a chinese something or other then nobody would expect any accuracy at all and any high scores would be gravy.

It is the same with any other sporting equipment. Don't buy the good stuff.
