Default Blue to Green program

Anybody know anything about this?

I'm a 37 year-old Navy vet with 4 years, honorable discharge, but with an RE-4 reup code. Decent shape, but could be better. 8 years correctional experience. What are my chances, anybody know?

With an RE-4, slim. Depending on a number of things, including your specific skills and their needs, there's always a chance. Your best bet, of course, would be to get your papers (and answers) in order, and drop in on your local recruiter.

Just from my personal experiance as an RA for the Guard, If you have an RE4 code, you can not re-enlist in any branch, some recruiters will give you the run around saying you can and will lead you on a wild goose chase for months, even years, But that changes, but I am willing to bet you money with the Guard raiseing ASVAB Entrance scores from 31 to 50, we are not taking anyone with an RE code. Might try the Reserves or DA, they might be able to, but being 100% honest, its tough, especially if its an RE4B, but just out of curiosity, what's the RE4 code for, feel free to pm.

Well, while I've never gotten a straight answer, I have a feeling it was a result of my overly-large mouth, and my unusually small amount of common sense back then. I had a habbit of shooting off my mouth without regard for the consequences.

Wish I'd been a little smarter in my youth. Ah, well. Nobody to blame but me. Like they taught mewhen I trrained to work in prisons, "FIDO".

As for actually being able to re-enlist, I can't help much. If, however, you get your foot in the door I can help you with the Blue-to-Green (Warrior Transition Course) as I went through it.

Looks like it's gonna take forever to even get that re-up code changed.

Have you talked with your local Congress Critter and seen if they could help you with this?
