Default 2009 Executive Chain of Command

My Group needs a revised chain of command ASAP. We have an inspector coming in March, and we need every Cadet to know their chain of commands before-hand. I'm sorry to say, but two months is definitely cutting it close for every Cadet in our Group to memorize the change in names. So I'll start off with what I do know:

Commander-in-Chief- Honorable Barack H. Obama

Vice Commander-in-Chief- Honorable Joe Biden

Secretary of State- Honorable...?

Secretary of Defense- Honorable Robert M. Gates

Also, will the AF Chain of Command change any as well? If not, then I'm good to go in that area. Thanks for the help.

How far down do you have to go for the Air Force Chain of Command? And I would say there is definitely a possibility of it changing in the near future.

SecState will all but certainly be the Honorable Hillary Rodham Clinton. (I'm not sure if your question mark was indicating you didn't know or recognizing her confirmation, while imminent, is not yet established.)

Thanks for the info. I haven't gotten down the AF Chain of Command on purpose because I don't know who would change. I know that they can change but I honestly don't see any reason why Obama would do that unless there was a big problem with them (which I don't think there is).

Cadet,

Your Chain of Command is:

*Commander In Chief/President of the United States: The Honorable Barack H. Obama

*Secretary of Defence: The Honorable Robert M. Gates

*Secretary of the Air Force: The Honorable Michael B. Donley

*Air Force Chief of Staff: General Norton A. Schwartz

*Air Education and Training Command: General Stephen R. Lorenz

*Commander, Holm Center: Brigadeer General Teresa A.H. Djuric

*Director, Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps: Colonel Richard J. Ragaller.

*Your SASI/ASI/AASI.

*Your Cadet Chain of command.

Now you will want to speak to your SASI to verify this information. You will also want to find out how far down your inspector will want you to know it. Finally, as far as any changes, they will be posted through the AF Gateway if there is any major change (eg, a change of command at AETC.)

Finally (and I'm surprised BillyD didn't point this out) the Secretary of State, the Honorable Hillary R. Clinton, is NOT (repeat NOT) in your chain of command. Secretary Clinton heads the State Department of the United States, not the Department of Defense. While she falls higher in the order of Presidential succession, Sec-State and Sec-Defense are equal positions and Sec-State is (again) NOT in your chain of command.

It's not March yet, so I guess i'll reply to this.

When we had our inspection, we included the principal of the high school, right above the SASI, and Commander, Air University ; Commander, AFROTC

Yes in my unit we go down the Army Chain of Command and then we list our principal and then our SAI/AI and then our C/BNCO.
