Knife Identification

Well, this isn't really led so much to the cadets, but seeing as I can't post in the military section, I'm trying to help a friend identify a knife, it's about a 60s era German knife, made by Hoffritz. I'm led to think it was more of a custom job, since it's unlike any knife I've seen before.

The text on the blade simply says 'Hoffritz, Stainless, Germany'. 3 pictures are attached. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
