Default Plans after High School(or where ever you are)!!

What are your plans after High School? I am going to MCRDPI and hopefully will graduate. I will then go to SOI and then onto Basic Force Reconasssince training. I'll go to the fleet and be deployed(Hopefully). I want to have a Career in the Marine Corps for as long as they let me stay in(I want to be a Drill Instructor and Recruiter)and I want to hopefully retire as a Sergeant Major(or a officer, if God tell's me to get a Comission). If for some reason I can't re-enlist I will return to wokr for Kroger as a Manager or go to School. What are your plans?

My plans, go to college (hopefully with a NROTC scholarship Marine option.) Go to OCS, and get a commision as a Second Lieutenant in USMC Infantry. If I cannot recieve a scholarship and can't afford to go to college, I will enlist and try to go to school via enlisted program, but if I am happy being enlisted I will naturally stay. Don't know if I will make a career out of the military, but I feel I need to serve my country.

Well that's good. Who doesn't want to be on of "The Few, The Proud, The Marines", or a Airmen,Soldier,Sailor or Cost Guardsmen. Take your pick.

Umm... look around the forum. There's plenty of people who are serving/have served and didn't want to be a Marine.

I want to get flying colors in school (like I already have now ), graduate high school, get into UC Berkeley on NROTC scholarship, get a Master's in Computer Science, get a commission (through NROTC) in the Navy as a SWO, spend some time in the fleet, work my way up, maybe become CO of my very own vessel, then by some outrageous luck be called for astronaut duty, serve as an astronaut for a number of years, then STILL be young enough to serve as the President of the United States, and retire comfortable, rich, and, having served my country, content.

Or I might just go through college normally (on a smart-guy's scholarship hehe) and go through Navy OCS and try to get commissioned and be a Navy Information Warfare Officer or Naval Intelligence Officer (high hopes!) and then be on loan to the Air Force and serve in Area 51 and then aliens will come they will be almost unstoppable but then I find out how to kill them and then the world fights off the alien invasion and then people nominate me for President of the United States and I am elected and I am not assasinated or impeached or any of that bad stuff.

Hey! Stop sneering! A guy can dream, can't he?

Exterminate the liberals lol just kidding just kidding.

Oh and on a more serious note, if the Navy isn't for me, then I might want to join my local police force. I'm kind of fussy about rules and I think being a copper would be a good career .

Besides, not that it matters, but they get paid a lot more that the Armed Forces do! Unfortunate but true.

City cops near me get paid 85K a year ENTRY LEVEL and can get up to 103K a year.
