Honestly, I like them. I liked the M1's more, mind you, but, I like the Springfields, too. I believe they're slightly heavier than the M1's, but, I dunno. I enjoy them

the M1903s seemed much lighter to me.

But in the spirit of the forum, I will look it up.

According to Wikipedia...

M1903 Rifle 8.65 lb (3.9 kg)

M1 Rifle 9.5 lb (4.31 kg) to 11.6 lb (5.3 kg)

There is no way to properly bear the Colors and keep the flag out of your face. You just have to hope that the wind will work with you or that your Riflemen on the end will guide you properly. As long as you stay dressed right you'll be fine.

I did my second one Friday night too, for our final home football game of the year.

But it sounds like you guys had fun, and congratulations on a job well done!
Wait till you get to the big leagues, than you can do CG at pro sports games. Last year I did it at the Nets game twice It was really stressful though, because there was supposed to be a reenlistment ceremony going on right after one of them, and I would say about half the audience were all active duty Army, in Class A uniform. They also brought their own CG, so they would know if we messed up. It went ok, I just wish that some of these singers would drag out a single syllable of the national anthem until they ran out of breath.

That is amazing. I'd love to be able to get my program to that level.
