Les Groshong let me know that his friend and fellow WWII Veteran Chuck Walker has passed away. Those of you who remember Les's stories will recall he used to talk alot about Mr. Walker. He was a Platoon Leader, and then a Company Commander with the 164th Infanty Regiment, and served on Guadalcanal among many other places during WWII.
Here is a little of the message Les sent me from Chuck's daughter: Quote:
The world is a much better place because of Chuck Walker. May he rest peacefully. And please say a few prayers for Chuck's widow, Hetty. I know she will be lost without him.

So much history vanishes with the passing of these men. They truly are National Treasures.
