Well I got bored and surfed the web and found this picture,
http://www.soldiersperspective.us/images/June2005/soldier_windsailing.jpg
and I am wondering what the uniform (if it's not a unform, the article of clothing) called, and if possible a place where I can purchase one. Thanks for whatever info one can provide.

If I'm not mistaken, it kind of looks like a MOPP suit. And no, you don't want to buy one.

Also, you don't want a MOPP suit for the fact they just plain ol' suck, you get hot and burn alive inside of em'.

A MOPP suit is what you would put on should you be in an NBC environment. It's designed to help protect from nuclear, biological, and chemical (NBC) attacks.

They SAY I work for a living... If work is characterized as showing up and sitting around for 12 hours, then that's me working.

Well I was planning to get them for a hunting trip with my uncle so the fact that they get kind of hot shouldn't matter 'cause it'll be a winter thing, but the fact that they're for NBC attacks/enviroments, that I don't need. Thanks for the information.

Are MOPP suits designed to be NBC resistant or NBC proof? If there's an attack and I put one one, is there a 100% success rate in that I will not be affected by any agents?

I would just wear a set of BDU's with bloused boots(old ones preferably, the BDU, ACU AJROTC switch is now,2009). Don't buy a MOPP, it's ridiculous. I would guess it's expensive.

Get a Reclass into Infantry, you will no longer have a lack of work thata way, :-)

Maybe if I weren't so broken... Then again, I like my duties (or lack thereof).

Resistant I believe. If you can find anything that 100% defends against anything that can be thrown at you, let me know so I can invest in it!

Okay I googled MOPP and stumbled on another forum that said it's called a BDO (Battle Dress Overgarment) and then the conversation went along and it became the JSLIST or Joint Service Lightweight Integrated Suit Technology. Then I redid the process and googled JSLIST and got this link.

Hope it cures others curiousity as it did for me.
For the same reason that it keeps things (Chemical and biological agents) out, it keeps certain things in...mostly sweat.
They start to stink, and they get bloody hot. Operationally, it's sealed until actual used in a CBRN environment, and then it is good for a period of time until you can use a decontam site.
They are not regular day to day wear, they are in the event that you are in that kind of environment.
And from experience, doing anything in the field with them (IE, Section attacks over and over in August in Manitoba) is an absolute pain.

Yeah I tell you what else isn't fun... Having to put the gas mask on in less than 10 seconds, then having to take it off and say your name and division number in a room filled with tear gas.
25b: dropped at the chow hall? Wow, they don't do that here. We just get chewed out by Chiefs and Petty Officers. Outside RTC there's no ITE allowed.

Can't remember ever saying anything about that, but since you mentioned it, there was a time (or 3, multiplied by something or other) where we were dropped OUTSIDE the chow hall, but for sanitary reasons never INSIDE it.

That was me, Im at the States National Guard Training Center for a two week class, and this weekend a couple other units held drill here, and all the E-8's like the front leaning postion, so by choice, all E-3's love the front leaning when we f up.

What are you talking about? Nothing beats a lungful of CS!

CS... my favorite allergy medicine. I actually had a stuffy nose for a few days prior to my face-to-face with CS. Good times...

I had good times with the Gas room, note, I never want to do it again, but good times.

Once a year, every year, and I always seem to get some crusty old Sgt who'll pack as many pellets onto the burner as he can.

Well it wasn't bad. I had a cold and it cured it right up a day later.

Oh, yeah, the gas chamber cleaned my sinuses right out for me. Too bad I can't get my hands on a canister of CS gas - I'd LOVE to give my brothers a personal look at what Basic is really like.
