I was on here a few years ago, but here's a new intro.

I'm a Senior at CBU in Memphis, TN. I'm finishing up my last year in NROTC now and I head off to Marine Corps OCS in July. I'm hoping of being something along the lines of combat engineer, but I'm not too picky, so whatever the Marine Corps send me to do!

I enjoy sports, music, and long walks on the beach...

USMCTWINKIE,
Enjoy the music and sports while you can, but don't fret the long walks, you'll get plenty of those. Thank you for choosing to serve.
Easy Brother,

Long walks on the "beach" are in your future, I'm pretty sure of it.

Welcome future Devil Dog.

In this case the "Cadet" is in NROTC which makes her a MIDSHIPMAN who also happens to be taking the Marine Corps option. Details, folks, those details will kill you.

Defention of a Midshipman...
In the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps, a midshipman is an officer cadet. The rank of midshipman is used by the U.S. Naval Academy, U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, and Naval ROTC. Midshipmen are further divided into midshipman ranks according to school year and/or standing within their Brigade, reflected in their equivalent NCO or officer ranks

Keyphrase, "A Midshipman is an officer cadet."

So I know I am paying attention to details, as a Midshipman, is just a name for USNA, USMMA, and NROTC, Cadets... So in using the defention of Midshipman, She can be addressed as, Midshipman, and or Cadet (Since, a Midshipman is a Cadet)... Granted before you jump on me for my use of defention, By Defention, she is still a higher ranking person, or soon to be, then me. So She still has the Respect of being called Ma'am, or Midshipman, over being called a Cadet.

Saturday was perfect, thanks for asking. And I have yet to be called cadet in college--since we use the term midshipman--but I guess now I have to answer to that if anyone uses it since you proved your case so well Army grunt :)
