Got the invite to ship over today. Got right on it. Those that remember me know my passion for the Cold War and trying to get history right. I've been around a long time in forum years but not a large volume poster. I'll speak when I have something to say. Forum rank matters little.
Spent my Navy time on the San Jose. Did 3 Westpac’s with her as a fresh air snipe. I was a diesel engine mechanic (EN2) with "A" gang. I had some very good times and the friends I made were for life. I am entitled to be referred to as a Vietnam Era Veteran and did my time in the South China Sea after the 1973 cease fire and before the Fall. Since Uncle Sam thinks very little of that time period and the service the 7th Fleet provided in those last two years of the war, my preference remains to be thought of as a Cold War sailor.
Currently reside in the Houston area. Married for 27 years. Think liberal, act conservative. Love to vacation in Las Vegas. I won't lie to anyone so be careful what you ask.
