My Scottish Rite Southern Jurisdiction Medal broke three weeks ago.

I talked to my SAI and AI about it and they said they can't order one until March and I need it for the Cadet Ball. Could anybody help me with Website, old medal and ribbbon or anything like that?
Sincerely

You're in a tight spot. You can really only get the medal from your instructor, who can only get it from the organization. Basically, you have to contact the organization, who won't send you one without talking to your instructor. So, don't count on replacing it, for a while. Get on Google for a little while; if it's out there, you will surly find it.

Take it to a local jeweler. They can definitely do a high quality repair job within a day or so and it should not cost that much.
What were you doing with it to cause it to break? What part is broken?

They cannot repair it, You know the little metal piece on the back of the medal the piece that holds the pin? It was really bent and the medal came of when I was walking down the hall between 5th and 6th period. The Medal they gave me was our S-5's because he was leaving and Scottish Rite didn't send one so they only sent me a Medal. My AI made a Ribbon out of it and the only thing I have left is the Inscription part(The bronze medal part).

As long as you have the Pendant, the jeweler can craft the rest.

I dont have the drapes either. He can actually do it. How much do you think it is going to cost because I can just buy a Drape for Paradestore.

Your best bet for finding out how much it is going to cost would be to take it down to a jeweler and explain exactly what you need done. He should be able to give you a quote before you decide whether or not to have him do it.

I have the pendant so I think I am just going to buy the Drape form Paradestore with two silver stars and the purple ribbon and jsut attach the pendant to the drape. It will be a whole lot cheaper and I will be able to put my medal on my jacket again.

Why not have someone do it right? It will not cost more than 20-30 dollars, max.

Thing is I can just spen Five Dollars on the Drape and attach the Pendant to the Drape and save alot of time and Money.

Drill for Life: If you don't care enough about the award to have it repaired to standard, then don't bother at all.
These awards seem like "mere" objects, but they represent this nation's finest people and achievements. Similarly: the U.S. flag is "mere" cloth, but vets and other upstanding citizens have beaten punks half to death over that "mere" material.
If money's a problem, cut back on one or more of your unnecessary purchases (we all have them - even po' folks like me) for a week or two so that you can pay a reputable jeweler.

No repairing it would be pointless because the only thing that broke was the back to the drapes so I'm going to fix it by buying a Drape. It will look better than before and will be easier to put on and will be cheaper than taking it to a jeweler.
Mods can we please lock this thread,I found the solution to the problem.

I heard from somebody you can get it off this website in a couple of days, don't hold me to my word.

What value to the topic does this provide? You 'heard' from somebody else that there is a website somewhere (which you don't provide) that you can get it from. But we shouldn't hold you to your word?
It's nice to know that you just told us whatever comes out of your mouth is complete and utter garbage and that we should take everything you say with a grain of salt.
I hate to tell you this cadet, but there are only a few things in this world that people can't take from you. Your word being one of them. If your word has no credibility, your reputation is just as worthless.
Keep that in mind before you post again.

Hey can we please talk to each other with a little respect? I am not taking his side (USFreak, you should have included more to your post and should have backed it up with more than he said/she said). It was wrong just to chew him out like that to CAPsmith. What came out of his mouth wasn't garbage it was just misrepresented, ill prove information that’s all. Can we just cool it a little bit, it seems like we all are starting to pounce down people's throat when remember when we where new to the forum (no one did this to us, they handled it in PM's). That is all I am going to say and I am going to do something about this (not trying to undermine your authority CAPsmith, but we do need a way so that new poster have to read the rules before they post).

I do have one question. DFL did you ever get your medal repaired?
Drill for life

No I did not (I was wondering when some one was going to ask me). I am going to try and get another one through the organization or just order a new drape. I have been so swamped lately, so I just haven't had a chance (just wore the ribbon).

I had the same problem with my VFW award the ribbon fell apart and the medal fell off at an inspection, and I never could find it so I have been trying to get it replaced, but that is a long process as far as my unit goes.

Same as in my unit friend, we are only allowed to order one national Award from each organization each year. Well what happens when last year they didn't seen you one and your S-5 had to give you his because you where leaving (yes that is what happened).
FYI: it was already broken and faded looking, I really didn’t wear it. I don’t want to look un-sat.

Hey DFL, Moderator>Member. Therefore, CAPSmith can jump on him, for his post did contain utter garbage. It's not just this thread either, many others. You're right we all were new to this forum once, but we are still in atleast High School and [should] have a higher mental capacity then a 5 year old.

Yes, I get what you are saying but instead of jumping down his throat especially on a open forum it could have been handled in a PM. That is all I am saying.

What if many PM's have already been sent and he has still disobeyed what has been said to him?

If he is disobeying orders than there's a nice function called "ban member". You ban people who don't follow the rules.

Exactly, could we get back on topic? This is pointless it's just back and forth argueing.

As was pointed out, there is a CoC. The staff (i.e. Moderators) in conjunction with the site administrator will decide who gets banned not the general membership. And as DFL has stated, let's get this thread back on track.
