What honors does your unit have? My unit has had HUD since it's creation(except those four years we had to wear that stupid blue star). Please join in if your NJROTC,AFJROTC, or MCJROTC. Please tell us.

My unit has always had the Honor Unit with Distinction... (Which suprises me, considering what I've seen...).

Distinguished Unit back in '96, been going down hill ever since. This year I and a few others have started to change that, and the unit is becoming more productive and organized, so maybe we will see me posting here again next semester or next year when our inspection comes around.

My AI has the exact same unit insignia's. He also has the meritous unit insignia. Why are the not on your Siganture, at JCLC this sumnmer Lt.Col Baker wore his class B's and he had 6 unit insignias.

You said unit awards, you didn't specify whether or not they were ones I personally was authorized for permanent wear. Given that I wasn't with this unit at the time of award for these awards, I am only authorized to wear them while assigned here, and even then I'm not authorized to wear the joint award due to regulation (can't wear the JMUA on a temporary basis).

While not an Army-based Cadet program, my home CAP squadron has:

Wing Squadron of Merit - 2007
Wing Cadet Squadron of the Year - 2005, 2006, 2007
Group Cadet Squadron of the Year - 2005, 2006, 2007

My current squadron isn't new enough to recieve unit awards yet.

Do you wear your unit insignia as ribbons?

Do you wear your unit insignia as ribbons?

Unit insignia, or unit awards, like I listed above? If the former - no, unit insignia is worn as a patch on the pocket of our BDU's. If the latter, no - CAP doesn't have specific ribbons / medals for those achievements. You earn a pennant to put on your squadron giudon.

The closest thing we have to a "unit award" is a Unit Citation, and a National Commanders Unit Citation (both are ribbons and medals), which can be awarded to any echelon within CAP.

Oh okay I get it. I saw some CAP cadets one time in BDU's and saw a patch on one of there BDU pockets and have always wondered what it was.

With a recent change in uniforms (within the past few years), you will now see (if a Cadet chooses to put them there) one patch on each of the upper BDU pockets. Now that we wear a reverse American flag on our right shoulder, a Cadet can no longer put a National Cadet Special Activity patch there. The alternative placement for it now is the opposite pocket (wearer's left) from the unit patch, if you have one.

I wish we'd do away with patches all together - even the reverse American flag (this is coming from someone who liked it initially). With all the patches we wear, as well as the name-tapes, combined with the fact that they're full-color - we look quite funny.

NJROTC has one ribbon for being a distinguished unit.

My unit has been classified as a distinguished unit for the last 26 years. (Thats as far as I can trace it back, may be more.)

I have only been in the unit for the last two years, and what I saw at inspection, if it wasn't for our drill teams, there is a decent chance we wouldn't have been designated as a Distinguished Unit.

We've always had HUD and always will because we the leader ship will train our subordinates better then we were taut, therefore bettering the battalion for years to come. :mp:

My SAI thinks where going to fail and get bumped down to a Honor unit(blue star) because half of our unit doesn's have there pants hemmed. I agree with him. I am going to bring in hemming tape and our leaders our going to be in the supply room all day and fix it.

My unit is currently Honor Unit with Distinction, however we have our next inspection this Tuesday. I'm part of the question panel and I'm kinda nervous I hope we can keep the gold star because I'm fond of it.

I hope we get to keep the Gold Star because my Academic wreath won't look right with a Blue Star.
