I really liked this thread off the old-forum so I decided to bring it back from the grave. I have finally been successful in growing hair on my head(If you remember why I couldn't good for you, and if you don't PM me). The scar is still there though(slightly though). I have been shaving me head bald(I was growing a beard over the summer so I could look like White boy, hated it). I tried a High-and -Tight I didn't like it that much. What kind of haircut do you guys have?

I rock a "1" all around currently. I've done the "military mohawk" with a few other JROTC'rs and I've also gone completely shaven. What I have yet to try is "high and tight," but will probably get that done in the next week or so with a friend of mine.

I'm planning on trying a "Low Regulation Hign n' Tight." It's like the "high n tight" but without completely shaving the sides.

I've seen that before, but I think I'll be going with the standard one. You should to because after just a few weeks, if you don't like it, you will have that "low regulation high and tight" that you plan on. Might as well try out two styles, or at least two variations of a single style, at the same time. Who knows, you might like it.

Good point. Might as well get the shorter cut and let it grow out.

::sits in barber's chair::

Barber: What would you like?
Me: High fade, skin on the sides, trim on top

Sometimes that trim is shorter than others, but it's the same cut every two weeks.

*Sits in Barber's Chair*

Barber: "What would you like?"
Me: "Buzz Cut, skin on the sides, no sideburns, with a line"

I just like my hair short. I hate being bald, but, I like it short.

I'll normally just cut my own hair at a one all around, but once in a while i'll go to a barber and get a high and tight.

On my own head, I never liked the same number all around. I usually get a 0 on the sides, and a high fade up to... a 4 or a 5, depending on how I feel at the time.

Eh. When I'm not in uniform (all except 4 hours of the week, normally), I spike the top. So, pointy eraser? Yes.

I like the medium reg, skin on the sides, however on occasion I will go with the Low reg. Every other week or so I will get them to trim the top, depends on how I'm feeling. After spending 3 months with no hair, I like having some up there. :D

My SAI doest particularly like our haircuts too military, he likes our hair to be more of a business cut. (Even though I sport a crew-cut in school). Something about it makes him feel like were impersonating military personell, which I can understand.

Impersonating military personnel? Its more like having a hair cut that is common within the military in a program that is military oriented. If he is saying the hair cut is impersonation, then why not the uniform you wear or the things you do?

El Supreamo your SAI wouldn't like my Haircut(I'm bald). I'm going to let my hair grow out for the winter, but just enough so I can spike it up. I'm gonna keep it bald for my JROTC picture though.

His position on the Corps of Cadets wearing the Army's Uniform is: He believes that cadets should not wear the Army's Uniform, that they should have a "Cadet" Uniform like; Citadel, Westpoint, VMI, GMC, Riverside, etc. As far as the things we do, I truly believe he loves the cadet corps he just wishes there were a few changes for the less "military looking" side of things, not so much as becoming less military disciplined.

He does give me a funny look though everytime I get my head shaved lol. :D

In my battalion, it's the exact opposite.

Although I'm sure that my AI and my SAI both agree that we shouldn't be allowed to wear the uniform, (Some cadets have burned it on purpose, others refuse to wear it right, others smoke in it, drink in it, etc.) they want our haircuts to be within strict military regs. That's why I always get a Buzz Cut...

No hair on the collar, hair cannot touch the ears, and sideburns cannot be lower than the earhole...

Burned the uniform! Why would they burn it, why not just not wear it if you don't like it? I hate it when other cadets disrespect a uniform, any uniform actually...

And that's how my SASI and ASIs are, within the military's code, or you may find yourself with quite a bad grade on uniform day.

Uh... one of the cadets who burned their uniform has ended up in my platoon. (The only reason why she came back was because her Girlfriend is in JROTC).

She was demoted to Private (No Insignia), but my SAI promoted her to Sergeant... :\

She's been good for now.

Wait, cadets who have burned their uniform are allowed to remain in or rejoin JROTC? Then they are promoted, to a NCO rank?

Yup. If you ever see me griping or complaining about my battalion, this is one of those reasons.

Understandable, sorry for getting this off track. Back to the hair and the cutting.

Speaking of haircuts...

Last year, before our Formal Inspection, we were giving free haircuts (trims and the like) to cadets who were either too cheap, lazy, and/or poor to get one from a pro.

Umm... didn't you at one point, post to THIS FORUM, that you had thought about burning your uniform!?

Do you like mayo on your knuckle sandwich?

Hah. Sounds like something my unit would do, except the hair cut would be done with rusty scissors and a rusty disposable razor. Any shaving that would need to be done would be done by a pair of scissors.

I'm kidding of course. My unit has its formal inspection on 10/25 and I am so not looking forward to it. Time to get another #1 buzz cut and look sharper than ever.
