What is your favorite JROTC activity? I have two.
I love Drill. I love to be alone real early in the Morning at my school just me, my rifle and my IPOD. I have a connection with my rifle, it is my best friend, my worst enemy and most of all my comfort. I find it more comforting than any food. I am I love with my rifle:inlove:.
I also love Raiders. In my school there are very few Raiders. I love to walk around in uniform wearing my Gold Sholder Cord. Raiders presents a Challenge that any other JROTC activity. I love to run late at night with my IPOD.
So what JROTC activity do you like the best?

You and your "sig lines"...
Drill (to include Color Guard since many people think it's something different). For me, as one who is known to get anal retentive with minute details, this was my way of teaching that "perfection" I strive for in a lot of things. The things I did as the commander of my school's drill team were a reflection of my leadership style and my personality overall. For me, there's nothing like being in that 100' x 100' box for 7 minutes displaying that "perfection" that you've trained 15 of your peers on.
As far as Color Guard goes, it was a great honor for me to be able to carry our nation's colors and present them at the events I did. Whether it was a local function like a volunteer recognition program, or a Veteran's Day function at a local retirement home, I felt even more honored than normal to be in that green dress uniform, because with it I was carrying the nation's colors.

My favorite thing about JROTC that I didn't get a chance to experience til my sophomore year, as a First Sergeant; was peer counseling.
As i've stated before, peer evaluation is a very harsh thing indeed. Even amongst best-friends i've seen cadets "tell it like it is" without hesitation.
I loved to counsel cadets, one on one, about their goals and their improvements, even their grades. I love to do the LER's, and really lay out their what I see they need to improve on, and I love to see other cadets expression's when I give them a little praise. Maybe, thanks to this strategy, is why I was chosen as a superior cadet for three years in a row: and with any hope a fourth.

For me, I really hold Color and Honor Guard dear to my heart. I command Color Guard, and Honor Guard in lack of Colors, at all of our events and take pride in carrying our nation's flag. I love Color Guard at competitions also, its just such an elite group of cadets that you face and its always the closest competition (at least the ones I go to).
I also love Armed IDR. The precision and snap with the ultimate in bearing draw me to it. This is also great competition because it pits the best each unit has to offer against each other. I love that kind of competition.

One of my favorite cadet activities is my unit's annual cadet dinning inn. The cadet dinning inn allows the cadets to socialize with other cadets in my unit who they would not normally see. It also allows for cadets to get recognized with awards and ribbons.

That sounds real cool. I wish my unit did that. I meant for this thread to be after-school activities but here is one outside of after-school, I loved JCLC I wish I could have stayed the whole summer instead of just one week.

My corps volunteers at the local air and space museum. The museum rents the hanger and planetarium for company dinners, birthday parties, etc. We come early to set up the tables and chairs, run the exhibits during the event, and tear down afterwords. The museum pays our booster club so that we can have our Military Ball and Awards Banquet there almost free of charge.

Yes it is. The museum would normally need to hire outside help, but with this all of the money they pay us with comes right back to the museum.
I also work there during the summer, so when we started doing this I already knew how to run most of the exhibits in the museum as well as most of the people.

I think the closet thing to a relationship to a business with our unit is our SAI constant trip to Dunkin Donuts. They cater all of our events

Reading the last few posts in this thread made me think of Homer Simpson and donuts. I couldn't decide which of these I wanted to post, so...

My favorite... and only JROTC activity would have to be Drill Team. You get to play with rifles (replicas now), look badass, go to meets and meet other cadets, trade tips, secrets, and phone numbers (especially for some of the rather good looking females :P, just kidding).

I love Drill and most of all Raiders. I have hoping to become a raider commander some year, but right now I don't really care because being on the team itself is a honor.
