What is an appointment ceremony? Is it true your girlfriend gets to put your rank on for you? I am only asking you becasue my unit has never had an appointment ceremony, we give out field promotions.

Explain what it is exactly you're talking about. Something like a promotion ceremony? On the AD side of things, you can have whomever pin your rank (certain NCO, your commander, & family member all being examples).

It sounds like your talking about a (cadet) commissioning ceremony, and if that is the case, then yes your girlfriend can pin rank on you; the option is you can have two people of your choice pin (cadet) officer rank on you.

Also when you have two words that start with a vowel "an" is used instead of "a".

Or are you talking about the ceremony that occurs on completion of basic training?
