Scrappy

Hello All,
My name is Scrappy.......I am an ex-USAF Intel Ops Spec assigned to the 1st Fighter Wing about a BILLION years ago. :p
Before that, I participated as a cadet in Civil Air Patrol and JROTC from 1991- 1995.
I found this site by way of searching Google for CAP Senior Member Ranks, and a couple of the threads here showed up in my results. To say that I was suprised that such a forum existed is an understatement and an embarrassment. It stands to reason in this day and age that a military forum with space for cadets exists......I should have thought of this a long time ago, hence the embarrassment.
I have belonged to a few forums for fellow sportbike riders and it all seemed to end in drama (that's right, testosterone induced drama with a complete absence of estrogen in 95% of the keyboard commando fights with 0% live octane challenges) so I am looking for something that is aligned with my personality on a broader scale.
I miss the military (but not the deployments, LOL) and the sense of comraderie that came with having a second family, and I think that is why I re-joined CAP as a Senior Member. Well, one of the reasons.
The other reason is that I recently found out that my cadet squadron in AZ Wing, Group 3 completely disbanded.....and my mentor passed away a few years back from a heart attack......the thought of all the hard work and commitment that he put into us only for him to not have a legacy of any kind left behind absolutely broke me inside. So, in his honor, I have re-joined CAP to work with the cadets, to try to be to them what he was to me. Does that make sense?
So, there 's a little bit about me. I also have a myspace page for pics of the stang and the bike......I'm going to go browse the rest of the site and find some interesting stuff to read. Catch you all later.
