For those who are/were in MCJROTC and know, How does one earn this ribbon? I was on the team last year but didn't receive one.

Every unit is different, ask the team commander and if they don't know go through your COC to find your answer.

Looks to me like showing up to the party isn't enough...you have to go above and beyond (whatever that means in the context of orienteering).

You know what we do in my unit for Raiders and Drill team cadets who don't have there ribbons yet (because I won't sign off on 'em) they let them teach ho to tie the swiss seat during there class period or teach drill therfore showing there proficiency in the subject.

Normally you get the ribbon for being on the team and showing you know what you need to know. The Orienteering officer also has to present a list of those who deserve the ribbon to your highest command staff (at my High School it was Company level) and then they will review the list and turn it over to you MI and SMI for final review. Once that happens you will be awarded the ribbon. If you don't have it yet then either A. you haven't demonstrated you deserve the ribbon or B. someone isn't doing their job.

Thanks for the info...I asked around and they said to get the ribbon you had to be a top member on the team and participate in all the activities, of which I am neither but maybe will be.
