I am sorry that I did not post something on here on Friday, but I was away from my computer. However, I was thinking about all of the servicemen killed in the barracks attacks in Beirut. There were 241 American servicemen killed: 220 Marines, 18 Navy personnel and three Army soldiers, along with sixty Americans injured, representing the deadliest single-day death toll for the United States Marine Corps since the Battle of Iwo Jima of World War II, the deadliest single-day death toll for the United States military since the first day of the Tet Offensive during the Vietnam War, and the deadliest single attack on Americans overseas since World War II. The sacrifices made by these gallant individuals will never be forgotten, nor will the cowardice of their aggressors. History remembers favorably those who have died with honor, while it mocks those who die as cowards. The American servicemen are heroes. Thank you for your service.
